What the business tier changes

Consumer and business satellite plans are the same constellation and very different products. The difference that matters commercially is not raw speed.

Traffic priority. Business tiers are prioritised when the cell is congested. On a residential plan, the busy hour is exactly when your site needs the link.
A service commitment you can put in a contract. Consumer service is best effort. If your operation needs a number written down and a consequence attached to it, the tier matters.
Support that answers as a business. A queue behind residential customers is not a support model for a site where trucks are waiting.
Fixed public addressing when you need it. Remote management, site-to-site tunnels and monitoring stop being awkward once addressing is predictable.

Where foreign companies actually get stuck

In the projects we see, the blockers are almost never technical. They are, in order:

No Brazilian entity. The order cannot be opened, the contract cannot be signed and the hardware cannot be invoiced to a company that does not exist in Brazil.
Equipment and customs. Bringing terminals in as personal luggage works once and then becomes a problem — for warranty, for replacement, and for the second site.
Nobody on the ground. Mounting, power, grounding, sky view, and a person who can physically attend the antenna. Remote sites in Brazil are remote in the literal sense.
An SLA signed on another continent. Which is fine until the day the site is down and the counterpart is in a different timezone with no local presence.

When to pair it with terrestrial, and when not to

Satellite alone is right when the address has no terrestrial option, or when the site must be live before fibre can be delivered. It is also right as a second path at a site that already has fibre, precisely because it depends on none of the same ground infrastructure.

It is the wrong answer at an address that already has adequate fibre and no diversity requirement. Cost per Mbps is higher and the gap widens as capacity grows. We will tell you that rather than sell you the more expensive option, because a design you regret in six months is not a customer we keep.

Not by ordering it directly, in the normal case: the contract, the invoicing and the equipment delivery all assume a Brazilian entity. What is the difference between business and residential satellite service in Brazil?
