SLA-Guaranteed Connectivity in Brazil

An SLA is only worth what its repair time and penalty say. 99.9% availability is roughly 43 minutes of downtime a month, but without a defined repair window and a stated credit, the percentage obliges nobody.

Ask for three things in writing: the availability target, the time to repair, and the penalty. JCM Carrier delivers contractual SLA with a 24/7 NOC.

An availability number on its own means very little

Almost every Brazilian provider quotes a high availability figure. Far fewer commit to how long a repair may take, and that second number is the one that decides how bad your worst day is. An SLA without a time-to-repair clause tells you what the provider hopes for, not what they owe you.

What a usable SLA contains

Doing the arithmetic

Availability translates into permitted downtime. Roughly: 99.9 percent allows about forty-three minutes a month, 99.5 percent about three and a half hours, and 99 percent about seven hours. Decide which of those your operation can absorb before you compare prices, because the gap between those tiers is exactly what you are paying for.

The part nobody reads until it matters

Who physically attends the site, and how far away are they at two in the morning on a Sunday. In Brazil this varies enormously by city, and it is the difference between a four-hour outage and a four-day one. Ask before you sign, not after.

Send us the address. We are carrier-neutral, so we map every route that can actually deliver there and come back with price, lead time and SLA — normally within two business hours. No CNPJ required to start.

Questions we get asked

What should an SLA actually contain?

Three things in writing: the availability target, the time to repair, and the penalty. An availability percentage on its own obliges nobody.

How much downtime is 99.9% availability?

Roughly 43 minutes a month. The number only becomes meaningful once a defined repair window and a stated credit sit next to it.

Why is the repair time more important than the percentage?

Because the percentage describes an average and the repair time describes what happens to you on the day it breaks. Without a defined repair window, a high availability figure commits the supplier to nothing in particular.

What happens if the penalty is not stated?

Then there is no consequence attached to missing the target, and the SLA is a statement of intent rather than an obligation. It is the part nobody reads until it matters.

Does JCM Carrier deliver contractual SLA?

Yes, contractual SLA with a 24/7 NOC.
